Council tax benefit

The council tax benefit scheme helps low income owner-occupiers, council tenants and private tenants with council tax. The amount of benefit available varies according to circumstances, income and savings and the people living in the property.

Outgoings are not taken into account.

People on income support, jobseeker's allowance (income based) or pension credit (guarantee) will receive 100% council tax benefit. Deductions are made for any person living at the property, not including partners or dependent children.

If anyone thinks they may be entitled, please claim now.

How to claim

You can complete our online benefits claim form from the link below, or alternatively you can pick a form up from the customer contact centre at City Hall, call 0344 980 3333 or email benefits@norwich.gov.uk

How to check if you are eligible for council tax benefit

To determine if you qualify for any benefit, use the online benefits adviser calculator on the Directgov website which will also give you an indication of any possible award that may be given to you. Follow the link to complete the form for an estimate:
