Looking after our world is a major priority today and the first small steps towards this can be taken locally.

Norwich City Council is committed to working towards making our city a more eco-friendly place to live and we want to champion those individuals and organisations doing the same.

With this in mind, we are now looking for nominations for our fourth annual eco awards, supported by the Norwich Evening News.

The categories are:
  • eco school
  • eco community group
  • eco small business (less than 50 staff)
  • eco large business (more than 50 staff).
All entries will be put forward for the special eco hero title, which recognises the hard work of an individual or group towards making Norwich a cleaner and safer place in which to live and work.

All entrants will receive an official eco awards certificate recognising their environmentally-friendly efforts. Winners of each category will receive a certificate and a glass trophy.

Winners will also win the right to use the eco awards 2011 logo, with their name and winning category embedded, on letters and marketing material for the next year. And an extra boon will be publicity for your business or organisation thanks to the Norwich Evening News which supports the awards each year.

Previous winners have showed their excellence through a range of eco initiatives including innovative recycling, litter picking, waste-free Wednesdays, plastic bag free days, low carbon operations, slashing energy bills and generally demonstrating an exceptional passion and ability to take action for the eco cause.

How to enter

If you, your business or someone you know has worked hard to help the environment by cutting waste, saving energy, encouraging biodiversity or any eco activity, please send us your nomination, using the entry form below.
