Norwich City Council's food safety team is responsible for promoting and regulating the safety of food and hygiene standards in the 1500 food premises in Norwich. The officers ensure that food businesses comply with the requirements of the law and that they provide food that is safe to eat.
The team developed a new food hygiene award for businesses which has been adapted by the Food Standards Agency for national roll out in October 2010.
