Jubilee Time Capsule
The council is also supporting the Jubilee Time Capsule, a unique online archive that aims to tell the people’s history of the 60 years since Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne.
A Royal Commonwealth Society initiative, they are asking people from across the globe to share their memories of the past six decades and build a digital collection of at least one memory for each day of Her Majesty’s reign; that is some 22,000+ days from 6 February 1952 to 6 June 2012.
Stories can be about any subject and do not have to be about The Queen or the Royal Family as they want to build a rich social archive that will not only form part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, but also become a valuable learning resource.
