City parks available for hire

The city council's open spaces are available for hire for a variety of activities. Listed below are some of the more popular open spaces available. The hire fee varies depending on the nature of the event and facilities used.

Earlham Park

Earlham Park

Situated to the west of the city adjacent to the University of East Anglia, Earlham is the most natural of Norwich parks, with 88 acres of open maintained grassland sloping down to the River Yare. It is is the largest event park in the city and suitable for major events. It is located three miles from the city centre off the Earlham Road with easy access to the outer ring road.

Facilities include:

  • a grassed area suitable for parking 1,500 cars
  • toilet facilities - 3 female, 1 male plus urinals and one disabled toilet
  • café
  • all other services will be required to be brought in.

Past events include:

  • Firework Spectacular - 20,000 people
  • classic orchestral concert - 5,000 people
  • pop concert - 10,000 people
  • circus and funfair
  • horse shows.

Chapelfield Gardens

Chapelfield Gardens

This formal park is situated in the heart of the city within the inner ring road and easy walking distance of the shops and car parks. It is a popular park for local activities.

Facilities include:

  • band stand
  • power points
  • children's play area
  • café
  • toilets.

Past events include:

  • Lord Mayor's Celebration - 10,000 people
  • funfairs
  • fêtes
  • promotions.

Eaton Park

Eaton Park

A large sports park with additional open spaces two miles for the city centre. Facilities include bandstand, toilets and café.

Waterloo Park

Waterloo Park

A picturesque formal park two miles from the city centre. Facilities include a stage area, bandstand, pavilion, toilets, children's play area. Ideal for theatre performances, small music events, arts and activities.

A small formal park two miles from the city centre. Facilities include a children's play area and toilets. Ideal for small scale local events.
