Norwich City Council’s housing improvement board (HIB) met for the final time in May 2012.
The group was set up by the council in 2009 as part of our commitment to improving the housing service we provide and it successfully acted as a ‘critical friend’ or adviser to the council in the delivery of our housing improvement programme.
HIB was made up of internal and external experts, including tenants, and met formally on a bimonthly basis to consider the council’s progress in its mission to deliver significant improvements to the housing service – or as and when required to look in greater detail at a particular area.
The board has assisted the council in making a great number of achievements over a three-year period and, as a result, fulfilled its purpose of significantly improving the performance of the housing service.
Norwich City Council offers a wide range of opportunities for tenants to make a difference, influence and help shape the housing service.
