Looking to rent a garage in Norwich?
The council has garages located throughout Norwich and a small number of lockable parking bays. Anyone can apply to rent a council garage or parking space with a lockable post. Please note that you may only apply for those currently being advertised and applications must be received by the deadline date quoted. No other applications will be considered.

Garages are to be used to park vehicles in only. They are not let as storage or workshop facilities.
They are allocated according to the following order of priorities:
- Blue (disabled) badge holders.
- Norwich City Council tenants.
- Norwich residents who pay council tax to Norwich City Council.
- Non-city residents and commercial users.
Rent prices
This varies depending on whether you are a council tenant, Norwich resident or a non-city resident and whether the garage is in a high, medium or low demand area.

How to apply
Click on the link below to see all garages and parking bays currently available to rent. The list is updated every two weeks.

You can apply for any of these but they will be allocated in accordance with the priorities list shown above. Where more than one person qualifies for a garage or parking bay, it will be allocated to the applicant who lives closest.

You can also request a form by calling 0344 980 333 or pick one up at City Hall or from your local neighbourhood office and send it to Garages, City Hall, Norwich, NR2 1NH.
You will need to apply by the deadline shown on the top of the list.
What happens with your application
If you are successful in your application we will contact you on the telephone number or email address you have provided on the form.
You will have 48 hours to let us know whether you wish to go ahead with your tenancy.
If we do not hear from you we will assume that you no longer wish us to proceed with your application and the garage/parking post will be offered to the next eligible applicant.

Rents must be paid monthly by direct debit.

General information
- Tenancies run from Monday to Sunday.
- Garages are all inspected and considered suitable for letting at the time they are advertised. Tenants are encouraged to report any issues or concerns immediately, or no later than one week from the date the tenancy begins.
- You are supplied with keys to the garage or parking bay. If you choose to replace a lock or padlock, this will become the property of the council when you give up the tenancy and should remain in place.
Ending your tenancy
If you want to give up your garage or lockable parking bay you will need to give us notice. Please complete the form below, which also includes our terms and conditions.
