Walkabouts are an opportunity for residents and the council to work together to address ongoing local issues.
Every year there will be a total of 48 walkabouts across the city.
Local priorities
So we know what area to focus on, we will produce hotspot maps plotting ongoing or repeated issues received. These could be things such as persistent fly tipping, graffiti or antisocial behaviour – anything which affects the quality of life of people in an area.
The local neighbourhood team will then contact a local resident or community group to invite it to co-host a walkabout and then together, along with the local councillors, will agree the date and location as well as the priority that will be focussed on.
An invitation will then go out to residents to join us on a walkabout. Any issues raised will be recorded by the neighbourhood manager, who will work with colleagues, councillors, or partner agencies, to resolve it.
Keeping you informed
We will make sure we keep the local community up to date by producing a feedback report summarising the discussions, activities and outcomes resulting from the issues raised, as well as any further work that is planned. Click here for feedback reports for the north and south neighbourhood areas.
