We want to help people to get involved in planning the future of Norwich and improve the way that involvement works.
The Statement of community involvement for Norwich is a planning document, which shows how and when we will involve different groups, organisations and the community in the process producing the new planning documents (the Local development framework) and in assessing major planning applications.
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to become involved in the new planning system. It is important that the community is consulted at an early stage, when your views can make a difference and help influence how future growth and development will happen in the city. Your local knowledge will help to make sure that development in the city benefits everyone while the special qualities of the city are also protected. The Statement of community involvement has recently been updated to reflect changes in the way we have to produce our planning documents and the council’s Community engagement strategy. The document can be downloaded from the link below or paper copies can be viewed at the planning reception in City Hall.
