Access to services

Interpretation and translation

Norwich City Council can arrange for information to be translated into other languages when required. We can also provide British Sign Language interpreters and lip-speakers through the INTRAN service.

Publications

Council publications, such as Citizen, can be made available in other formats, such as audiotape and large print, if necessary. if you would like to receive any of our publications in another format please email info@norwich.gov.uk

Please inform staff within the relevant service if you need assistance. The services are free to the user.

The Norfolk Disability Information Service (NDIS) publish a free bi-monthly newsletter which provides local and national information and news. Visit the Norfolk County Council website for more information and how to subscribe to the NDIS newsletter.

Access to council buildings

Information about access to council premises can be obtained from the relevant service. The council is committed to making improvements to its premises in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.

Grants towards renovation and disabled adaptations

The council offers grants and loans to help people carry out repairs, improvements and adaptations to their homes. These include the disabled facilities grant, decent homes loan, minor works grant and empty homes loan.
