Equality impact assessments (EIAs)

What are EIAs?

Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is a key method used for assessing council services with regard to equality and diversity. The process identifies potential negative and positive impacts that existing and new council policies may have on people from different groups within our community.

It is a statutory duty for all public authorities to undertake these assessments which has come about following the recommendations made in the Macpherson Report in 1999.

All EIAs submitted from our four directorates can be downloaded below. If you have any questions about the process please contact us on 0344 980 3333 or email info@norwich.gov.uk
