The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act came into force on 1 January 2005. Norwich City Council welcomes it, but what does it mean for you?
Local authorities are already some of the most open, accessible and public of all the organisations affected by the FOI Act and are used to being accountable to various government auditors, assessors, the media and the public.
FOI aims to promote openness for the public and give greater access to all types of recorded information held by Norwich City Council.
