White Ribbon

White Ribbon Day and 16 days of action

Norwich City Council is committed to tackling domestic abuse and sexual violence and has been recognised with a White Ribbon accreditation.

White Ribbon Day is on the 25 November and is an international day for the eradication of abuse against women.

The campaign calls for men and boys to challenge male cultures that lead to harassment, abuse and violence and for supporters to show their commitment by wearing a white ribbon. The campaign runs every year from 25 November to 10 December (16 days of action).

The white ribbon has been adopted in Norfolk as a symbol of commitment against all domestic abuse, no matter what form it takes – whether verbal, emotional, physical or sexual – or the gender of the abuser or abused.
