Salary is £16,830 to £18,453 (with effect from 1 October 2011 - £17,802 to £19,621 pro rata) (plus weekend and bank holiday enhancements).
Working 12 hours per week minimum – guaranteed 12 hours per week, plus additional hours as required to meet the needs of the service. This is an annualised hours contract, therefore you may not always work 12 hours or more but, on average throughout the year, your hours will average 12 hours per week. You will also be required to be on standby for 3 out of 7 days a week to provide robust back up to NCAS at short notice.
The Norwich Community Alarm Service (NCAS) provides a variety of vital support that keeps Norwich safe and working 24/7; 365 days of the year. These are not routine 9-5 jobs and every day brings a new challenge. We are looking for motivated and organised team players who can make a contribution to our busy team. This is an important role where you will be responding to calls for help and assistance, providing support services to older people and those considered at risk in the community. You must be able to remain calm during emergency situations and use your initiative to offer solutions to callers' problems.
Enhanced CRB clearance is required for all successful applicants.
