Today sees the first engagement for new deputy city crier Bob Lloyd, as he accompanies current crier David Bullock at the mayor-making ceremony.
Norwich City Council has appointed Mr Lloyd, 59, as a deputy to train up and follow in the footsteps of Mr Bullock should he consider retiring.
Mr Lloyd was born and brought up in Warwickshire but made Norwich his home in 1974. He is a professional toastmaster, and spent 19 years working in the bakery trade before joining Royal Mail in 1986. He is married with two daughters.
The annual meeting of the council will take place today (19 May) at City Hall from 3pm.
Incoming Lord Mayor Councillor Eve Collishaw and incoming Sheriff Professor Tim O’Riordan will be officially elected and don their mayoral robes for the first time.
