Top quality comedy acts will be performing in the Castle Gardens this summer as part of the Lord Mayor’s Celebrations.

Tickets are now on sale for the outdoor show at The Whiffler Theatre on Thursday 8 July which kicks off this year’s four-day community festival organised by Norwich City Council’s events team.

Your host and compere is the hugely popular MC Harvey Oliver, Addy van der Bhorg is a natural clown, and was born to make people laugh, while The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue has to be seen to be believed.

Liz Wimms, event co-ordinator, said: “This is a great opportunity to see top drawer comedians in an unusual setting and the show is always a sell-out, so our advice is to book early.”

Tickets are £7.50 (£6 with a Go 4less card) in advance from the Tourist Information Centre at The Forum on 01603 213999 or £10 on the door. On-site bar – no other alcohol allowed.

Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm.

The comedy acts are:

MC - MICKEY HUTTON
Geordie comic Mickey Hutton is one of the top comperes in the UK. He left Newcastle for the bright London lights to be a musician but ended up one of the most popular comics at The Comedy Store and is one of their most requested MCs. He has had a string of TV, stage and radio appearance including hosting his own Sky TV chat show and the much loved kids show Hangar 17. Mickey has an impressive acting career, appearing in BBC drama Spender and as the lead in the TV movie ‘King Of The Road’, and has a published book ‘Massive’. As a stand-up he has performed across the globe from the Falklands to the Middle East, and was the first comic to ever perform in Shanghai. He also still plays guitar!

ADDY VAN DER BHORG
Addy van der Bhorgh has that rare talent of making people laugh as soon as he walks on stage. ]With brilliant timing and an array of voices and characters, Addy is well known in comedy for his animation of inanimate objects which enlivens even the drabbest subject matter. His TV appearances include the 'Stand-up Show' (BBC1) 'Live at Jongleurs' and 'The World Stands Up' for Sky TV.
"van der Bhorgh has funny bones. This man was born to make people laugh" (Edinburgh Evening News)
"Brilliant natural clown" (The Daily Telegraph)
"Addy’s excellent. His flights of fancy and gentle manner are a brilliant combination" (Time Out)
"An unassuming comic genius" (The Metro)

RAYMOND AND MR TIMPKINS REVUE
The charismatically-challenged uncle and mute nephew co-operative that is the Raymond And Mr Timpkins Revue has to be seen to be believed. It is simply one of the funniest acts of the past 10 years. Combining inimitable acoustic guitar and stylophone driven rock anthems with a plethora of prop-assisted material and some serial wordplay that would put Stephen Fry to shame, it comes together to create a comic masterpiece.
"a mad anarchic triumph of stupidity over style, not to be missed" (Guardian)
"Knockabout double-act with enough silliness to fill a pillow" (Evening Standard)
"Absolutely hilarious" (VIZ)
