Page Content City Hall will be open for business as usual on Wednesday 30 November, except to customers calling by in-person from midday until approximately 2pm while a planned march and rally take place. The building will reopen as soon as possible after this time.
The council’s main telephone number (0344 980 3333) will be staffed as usual and will be unaffected by the temporary closure of City Hall.
Plans have been put in place to minimise the impact of the action on essential services. These are being reviewed regularly, but the council doesn't anticipate any major disruption to its services. We expect our contractors responsible for waste and recycling and other key services to be working as normal.
Some of those taking part in the industrial action are planning a march and rally at lunchtime from Town Close Road to City Hall. Speeches will be made from the front of City Hall for about one hour.
There will be a road closure in place at Town Close Road from 10am to midday. There will then be a rolling police road block along the route of the march, which will leave Town Close Road at midday.
The council's neighbourhood offices will be closed to the public on Wednesday 30 November. Normal opening hours for all these offices will apply from Thursday 1 December. In the case of an emergency please call the council's main telephone number, as listed above.
