Norwich - A developing City The economy Norwich City Council is involved in a wide range of activities to support the Norwich economy. Overall the economy is thriving. The City has the largest clusters of financial services and creative industries in the Eastern Region and Norwich is one of the top ten retail centres in the UK. While redundancies and closures are very sad, they reflect structural changes in the economy rather than a down turn. The Norwich Economy Round Table, a private/sector partnership driven by local business, has created an Economic Strategy for Norwich to cover the period 2003-2008. The City Council has developed a range of marketing materials which are available to local businesses for them to use for recruitments purposes and to promote the City.
