Waste and recycling
In 2005-06 Norwich recycled 15.8% of its waste but this figure needs to rise over the next few years so that we can meet targets set for us by the government.
As a country we are running out of landfill space fast! We must all do our bit to help minimise our waste. We need your continued support to reach the targets that have been set. Together we can make Norwich a cleaner, safer and more eco-friendly place to live and work.
For households where a doorstep collection is not practical we will introduce other schemes to reduce waste and increase recycling. If a new scheme is introduced in your area we will send you all the information you need in order to participate. The schemes could include communal facilities (local shared bins) for flats, paper only collections, the use of mini recycling banks and bring banks across the city and other initiatives.
