Norfolk and Norwich Koblenz Friendship Association

Our logo represents the combined spires of Norwich Cathedral and the Liebfrauenkirche in Koblenz. On 16 September 1980, the Norfolk & Norwich Koblenz Friendship Association (NNKFA) was founded at the Sewell Barn Theatre with the aim of promoting informal links between Norwich and Koblenz and, in the same year, the first visit to Norwich by our Koblenz partners took place.
The first contacts between the Rhineland Palatinate and the county of Norfolk go back to school exchanges as early as 1947 and official contacts between the Koblenz region and Norfolk were sealed in 1956.

Since then a wide range of links on educational, cultural, sporting and many other levels has developed, all of which have served to deepen friendship and understanding between the two cities and regions.
On 22 April 1978, the formal twinning documents between Koblenz and Norwich were signed in Koblenz, further promoting and extending links and building on this firm foundation. Since 1977 there have been strong links between the HWK Koblenz (Chamber of Skilled Trades) and Norwich and Norfolk Colleges.
