Norwich resident, Kathie Canfield, became fed up with her old energy provider because they kept on upping her bills so she decided to take back control. Here’s her story:
"I’d been a customer of one of the ‘Big 6’ energy providers for many years and paid by direct debit. As with lots of other people, I didn’t bother to check around at the end of each contract period because I thought my provider was giving me the best deal. However, every year my former provider raised my monthly charge. What started out as being £55 per month ended up being £93 per month – it was just too much.
I read about the Switch and Save scheme in the Norwich City Council’s resident magazine and decided to sign up.
Changing with Switch and Save was so easy. All I had to do was sign the contract and the new provider did everything else and kept me updated every step of the way. This is my second year in the scheme and I’m currently paying £53 per month. This year, I will save £480, thanks to Norwich Switch and Save.
Saving money where I can is important for me. As with lots of working people, I was just earning enough to cover my basic expenses with little left over. Now, I can use the money I save on fuel bills to do some upgrades on my house and maybe have a little bit left over for a holiday.
I would absolutely encourage other people to use Norwich Big Switch and Save. It’s simple, easy and saves money. What else do you need from an energy provider! I’d like to thanks Norwich City Council for setting up the scheme."
