Licensing enquiries for cafés and other licensed premises

Following the closure of many businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are now moving into the recovery phase and businesses are starting to reopen. The council recognises that the use of outside areas will be essential to allow effective operation of many cafés and other licensed premises.

To ensure that the use of alternative space is approached lawfully, this may require some new or altered licensing requirements, which is likely to be specific to each individual premises.

To help support business operators at this difficult time, the council's licensing team is offering a free bespoke advice service to help businesses know what applications might need to be made and how to make them. If you would like to take advantage of this service please complete this short online form with the details of your enquiry.

We are also reducing the fees for a tables and chairs licence by 50 per cent, until the 31 December 2020
