Consultation closed: Magpie Road cycle crossing and Edward Street cycle track notice 2018

Consultation closed 27 March 2018

We are proposing to:

  1. install a signalised cycle crossing on Magpie Road directly in line with its junction with Heath Road.
  2. install a cycle lane from Magpie Road (opposite its junction with Heath Road) to Edward Street.
  3. install a cycle lane on Heath Road from its junction with Magpie Road in a northerly direction for 6M.
  4. move the existing road closure on Heath Road south from the existing position outside No.1 Heath Road to its junction with Magpie Road
  5. change waiting restrictions on the south of Heath Road to incorporate the new road closure and cycle lane.
  6. convert the footpath on the west side of Edward Street from its junction with Magpie Road in line with the southern boundary of Esdelle Street to an unsegregated cycle track/footpath.
  7. install a small section of double yellow lines at the eastern end of Esdelle Street to allow easy passage for pedestrians and cyclists.

The proposals will provide an easier crossing of Magpie Road for cyclists between Edward Street and Heath Road and are part of the Transport for Norwich initiative to improve safety for all road users.
