Closed consultation: Three Score, Bowthorpe (Phase 3) consultation

Consultation closed 16 July 2021.

Background

We wrote to a large number of homes within Bowthorpe that are in close proximity to the housing development site at Three Score.

Comments were collected on the current proposals for Phase 3 of the development to help inform the development of the scheme prior to submission of the planning application.

Details

The wider site already has the benefit of outline planning permission for approximately 1000 homes, which was granted in July 2013, with the early phases of housing and care home having been completed.

Parameters plan

This proposal is for the third phase of development and encompasses a triangular area of approximately 2.4 hectares (5.9 acres) located to the north of the overall site and west of Saxoncote Avenue.

This new phase looks to build 76 homes, including 52 affordable homes and a mixture of 1 bed flats and 2, 3 and 4 bed houses.

The overall design for the site will have a contemporary feel with important open spaces and it’s proposed that it will be an outward facing development, so as not to separate it from the existing surroundings.

The large tree belt to the south-west of the site will be retained fully as part of the development and various footpaths/cycleways in and out of the site will connect it to the neighbouring area.

The plan also includes an open space in the north-east corner of the site and proposals look to make this accessible to all residents from the nearby area and could include an area of play space.
