Digital confidence
Pippa first started having home visits in July 2017. Pippa describes herself as a “technophobe” but wanted to “get into the 21st century”. Victoria, digital inclusion volunteer, has visited weekly for periods of six weeks, after which Pippa has had breaks from support so she can build her confidence and independence.
She has found the support from Victoria a “fantastic opportunity”. She described Victoria as “very patient and reassuring” and through her support Pippa is much more confident using her laptop and the internet.
As well as emailing and setting up her Railcard, Pippa has started to successfully sell things on Gumtree, and is really happy to be able to make some extra cash in this way.
