Employee stories: Holly Crook, senior transformation officer

I started working in the customer contact team for Norwich City Council in 2008 after finishing university. I had ambitions to progress within the organisation and after moving into a variety of different roles, I now work in the transformation team as a senior officer with line management responsibilities. 

In this role I often work with directors and heads of service to deliver council wide projects. This has been valuable learning experience and has provided me with the opportunity to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

I have had many personal development opportunities since being at the council and these include, leading a team in the Local Authority Challenge in 2015, gaining PRINCE2 and AGILE qualifications and also having a mentor to support and guide me in my career development.

I feel empowered to make my own decisions, manage my own workload and I have recently completed the Good Manager training programme, with aspirations of taking the next step forward.

The council have been an excellent employer to me over the last 10 years, offering a number of training courses, support and opportunities for me to progress.
