Apprenticeship story: Sol Riches

Apprenticeship story: Sol Riches - apprentice customer contact adviser

Having completed my A-Levels in maths, further maths and physics at Thorpe St Andrew I joined the council working within the customer contact team and studying for an NVQ Level 2 in customer services. I chose to do an apprenticeship because I wanted to gain workplace experience while continuing to study at the same time.

I am enjoying working here and look forward to continually improving my workplace knowledge and skills. The council have given me the time and flexibility to allow for a good balance between both work and study.

Apprenticeships are a great way of getting into work as they help you to gain work place skills and complete your qualification.

In the next five years I hope to become a team leader/manager.
