Come along to our ‘gourd-eous’ event

Published on Tuesday, 2nd October 2018

Our popular family-focused pumpkin festival is back and you’re invited! Come to The Forum on Saturday 20 October from 10am until 4pm.

At our Norwich Pumpkin Rescue event you'll find inspiration on what to do with the season’s favourite spooky vegetable.

Every year at Halloween, approximately 18,000 tonnes of pumpkin are thrown away – the same weight as 1,500 double decker buses.

Our event aims to give great tips and ideas to ‘squash’ food waste. Activities include:

  • Mad Science shows
  • face-painting
  • tasty pumpkin soup, courtesy of Food Cycle Norwich
  • guess the weight of the pumpkin
  • design your own tote bag to take home
  • pumpkin recipes.

The event is part of Norwich Science Festival and coincides with the food and science event inside The Forum.
