Norwich City Council is the data controller for the housing team who look after sheltered housing schemes and monitor booking requests of guest rooms and communal lounges.

What will we do with your data?
If you have contacted us to request to book a guest room or communal lounge, we will use the contact details you have provided to us for the purposes of booking – more specifically, to discuss your request with us, confirm your booking and take payment over the phone through our secure payment system.
We will also send you relevant information in relation to your booking such as confirmation and access details, and discuss any issues or changes to your booking. Your details will be used in case of an emergency during your stay.
We intend to keep your data for seven years at which point it will be deleted, as stated in the Retention Schedule available on our website.
What are your rights?
You have the right to request access to your personal information to:
- ask for errors to be corrected
- restrict how your information is used
- object to how it is processed
- request that your data is deleted.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office if you are not happy with how your data is processed.
What are the consequences of you not providing data?
You will not be able to book a guest room or communal lounge.
How will we share your data?
Access to your information will be limited to our housing team, our out of hours service provided by Norse and our community alarm service (Welbeing). Your information will be used only in relation to the booking.
Apart from where previously stated, we do not pass your details to third parties unless we are lawfully able to do so for the prevention and detection of crime and fraud, or for the collection of taxes.
