Use this form to apply for a new vehicle licence. On the initial application your vehicle must be less than five years old.
To renew your vehicle licence before it expires, please complete a renewal form.
To apply and pay for a new vehicle licence you will need the following:
- current Mechanical Fitness Test Certificate (Please upload a scanned or photographed copy of the certificate - make sure you have it saved on your computer before proceeding)
- email address
- credit or debit card
When the application has been processed and authorised, you can collect the new vehicle plate and associated items from City Hall. You will receive a notification email when the items are ready to collect. This will normally be within two working days of submitting the application.
Once you have started, you must continue to the end and submit the form. Please note that you only have 30 minutes to fill out each page and you will not be able to come back to the form at a later time because your answers will not be saved.
