There are coach friendly facilities for dropping-off and picking up passengers near to many of the tourist attractions in the city. Layover parking is available.
For the main coach drop off points the following routes are recommended to ensure coaches arrive with the passenger door adjacent to the footway for passenger safety:
- Theatre Street for Theatre Royal: approach from Grapes Hill roundabout at inner ring road for Chapel Field North, depart via Rampant Horse Street
- Castle Meadow for Norwich Castle: approach from Agricultural Hall Plain or Market Avenue and depart via Red Lion Street
- Ber Street: approach from Ber Street (south) from inner ring road and depart via Golden Ball Street
- Upper King Street for Norwich Cathedral: approach from Tombland and depart via Upper King Street.
Bus lanes and bus gates
Coaches and minibuses can use any bus lane or bus gate in Norwich, for more info visit www.norwich.gov.uk/buslanes
Minibuses may also use any of the coach stops and coach layover parking as minibuses are considered the same as a bus or coach. Other parking options for minibuses includes on-street pay and display parking and surface car parks that do not have height restrictions such as Barn Road, Chantry Road, Lower Clarence Road* or Rouen Road; if a minibus straddles two spaces in a council car park then two P&D tickets must be purchased.
