Polling stations are open between 7am and 10pm on election day.
To vote in person, you must be on the electoral register and bring a suitable form of photo ID to your polling station. See our Voter ID page for more information.

Your poll card will tell you the polling station you should vote at.

Your ward map will also show the location of your polling station.
If you do not want to go to the polling station to vote, please remember you are entitled to vote by post or vote by proxy at each election.
Voters with long-term disabilities are also allowed to apply for a long-term proxy to vote on their behalf.
Accessibility at polling stations
All our polling stations are accessible with step-free access.
Each polling station has a polling booth suitable for use by wheelchair users.
The staff are trained and have access to the following equipment to assist disabled electors to vote independently or with the assistance of polling station staff:
- A large-scale copy of the ballot paper
- A magnifying glass
- A "tactile voting device" - This is a plastic device with embossed numbers and tab windows. It can be attached to a ballot paper to help blind and partially sighted voters to vote independently.
- A low-level polling booth
- Pencil grips
Disabled voters can bring a companion (close relative or elector qualified to vote) to assist them to vote at the polling station.
