Shortlisting and interviews

The recruitment panel usually comprises of the line manager and one another panel member, usually another manager. The panel will complete the shortlisting process by scoring your application against the criteria set out in the person specification. Once shortlisting is complete, you will receive an automated email notifying you of the outcome from NoreplyHR@norwich.gov.uk.

If your application has been shortlisted you will need to book an interview slot via the e-recruitment website. Once you have booked your interview, you will receive an email confirmation and further details regarding arrangements for the day of the interview such as location and who to contact when you arrive.

If your application was unsuccessful you will receive an email confirming this. You are encouraged to request feedback from the recruiting manager who will be happy to provide this in order to assist you in completing future job applications.

The interview

The purpose of the interview is to find out more about your experience, knowledge, skills and abilities and suitability for the role. You will also be asked questions relating to the employee competencies so ensure you have looked at this prior to the interview.

It is important that you prepare for the interview and give as much thought as possible to how you can demonstrate the essential criteria and PACE competencies.
