Data protection and privacy for recruitment, HR and Learning

GDPR statement and consent

Under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Norwich City Council needs explicit consent from applicants to process, collect and store data for the purpose of recruitment and selection and any ongoing employment which may arise. We are committed to being compliant and keeping your information private and secure. As part of the registration and application process you give consent form to enable the council to process data.

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to the organisation during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, the organisation may not be able to process your application properly or at all. If your application is successful, it will be a condition of any job offer that you provide evidence of your right to work in the UK and satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, such as references, medical clearance by occupational health and declaration of any unspent convictions.

You are under no obligation to provide information for equal opportunities monitoring purposes and there are no consequences for your application if you choose not to provide such information.
