Types of notices
Allotment inspections and notices
Find out when your plot will be inspected, what the inspectors look for and what to do if you are issued a notice.
Weed notice
This means your plot has too many weeds, especially in growing beds. To fix it, tidy your plot and dig over the beds before your re-inspection.
Cultivation notice
This means you’re not using enough of your plot to grow crops. You should be actively cultivating at least 60% of your plot. Just cutting weeds or covering beds with plastic isn’t enough. These notices often require more work to resolve.
Waste notice
This is sent when there’s rubbish or materials on your plot that shouldn’t be there — like broken glass, plastic, furniture, or building waste. You must remove anything not being used for growing.
