Consultation closed: Angel Road/Waterloo Road zebra crossings and raised tables

Consultation closed 22 August 2017

Angel Road/Waterloo Road proposals

In January we consulted on proposals to improve the Angel Road and Waterloo Road area for cyclists and pedestrians. After considering all the responses received, we are consulting on a further proposal.

We now propose to replace the existing signalised pedestrian crossing to the north of this junction with a zebra crossing on a raised table in the same location and also to provide a second zebra on a raised table to the south of this junction.

There will also be some kerb realignment to help slow vehicles and a new 30 minutes parking bay outside house numbers 126/128 Waterloo Road.

Angel Road/Elm Grove Lane proposed raised table

A raised table 75mm high is proposed to be installed at the Angel Road/Elm Grove Road/Catton Grove Road junction. This is to enhance the traffic calming previously advertised for Angel Road.

If these latest proposals are agreed, the previously advertised advisory cycle lane and traffic calming on Waterloo Road, traffic calming on Angel Road and double yellow lines on Angel Road and Shipstone Road, along with the changes to the Shipstone Road cycle track will be installed at the same time.

A notice of the proposals was advertised in the press on Friday 28 July 2017.

The road notice and plans provide details of the proposals.
