Make sure your vote counts – key dates for the next election

It’s just over three weeks to go until Norwich heads to the polls for the local election – where one-third of city councillors, one in each of our 13 wards are up for election. Dates not to miss...

Thursday 14 April: registration deadline – This one is really important, anyone who wants to vote, will need to be registered and time is running out! Register here

Tuesday 19 April: postal vote deadline – To apply for or cancel a postal vote, and this includes if you want to have someone carry out a proxy postal vote (a vote on your behalf). Complete the form and return it to us

Tuesday 26 April: proxy (non-emergency) – If you want someone to be able to vote on your behalf at a polling station.

Thursday 5 May: polling day – the big day itself!

Friday 6 May: the count – results day!

Are you a student?

If you are studying and living in Norwich you may also be able to vote in the local election, providing you will be 18 or over on polling day (5 May), and even if you want to also vote in your hometown. More here: www.norwich.gov.uk/StudentVote
