Estate improvement projects are intended to benefit the whole community in a council-owned housing estate.
Key considerations for a successful suggestion:
The proposal should do one or more of the following:
- Improve access
- Improve security
- Improve appearance
- Regenerate an area
- Reduce crime
- Reduce antisocial behaviour (ASB)
- Foster a sense of community
Examples of the type of work that may be carried out are:
- Neighbourhood safety - bollards, rails, fencing, alleygates
- Communal estate improvements - line markings, large repairs to improve estates
- Enhancement - bike racks, benches, enclosing bin areas
- Regeneration - re-surfacing and design
