Roadworks and road closures

When there are roadworks being carried out in the city there should be a 'courtesy' board clearly visible giving details of who is carrying out the work.

Scheduled roadworks in Norwich and Norfolk

Check current and planned roadworks in the local area at www.norfolk.roadworks.org

Complaints about the work, such as traffic congestion, poor signing, rude workmen or poor pedestrian facilities, should be made to the telephone number on the courtesy board. If there is no board, or if the reply is not satisfactory please contact us.

If outside of office hours call 01603 412180.

Closing a road for an event

If you are organising a community event on the highway you will need to apply for permission to close the road. For an information pack and application form see Holding an event on the street.

Match day road closures

Before and after a Norwich City Football Club match, road closures are in place around the ground for crowd safety reasons. See more about match day road closures.

Management of Norwich's night-time economy

A plan to help reduce the effects of the night-time economy on residents, businesses and visitors within the city centre has been approved. Find out more and about the experimental road closures
