How to recycle household batteries

Place batteries in a separate carrier bag to small electrical items and put out next to your recycling or black waste bin by 6am on your collection day.

Please don’t put the bagged batteries in your bins as they won’t be collected and can cause a fire risk. Please note, we do not offer this service for communal bins.

Battery types we accept

  • 6v
  • D
