Consultation closed: Heigham Street/Mile Cross Road junction

Consultation closed 6 August 2019

This proposal will:

  • Install two signalised pedestrian crossings on the Heigham Street/Mile Cross Road junction. One will be on the Mile Cross Road arm and the other on Heigham Street west side arm.
  • The pedestrian crossings will be staggered, with a pedestrian refuge in the centre of the road.
  • To provide room for the refuges, it has been necessary to reduce the footpath width and remove on-street parking.

These proposals are to make the area safer and more pleasant for pedestrians and residents. The associated parking restrictions will increase road safety for all users and maintain traffic flow. This scheme is part of the Transport for Norwich programme funded through the DfT’s Transforming Cities fund.
