A full range of business support and guidance on coronavirus is available to businesses, employers and employees.

Reopening your business – advice and guidance

It is essential you follow government guidelines and health and safety regulations before you reopen your business.

We have put together advice and useful links to help you reopen safely.

Free support and advice locally

Norfolk businesses affected by coronavirus are urged to seek advice. The government has supplied resources to inform employers on developments and advice on protecting themselves and their employees. The New Anglia Growth Hub offers free advice to all Norfolk businesses.

Financial support finder

The government has provided a tool for employers and the self-employed to check what support is available. You may be eligible for loans, tax relief and cash grants, whether your business is open or closed. Check what is available to you

COVID-19 Discretionary Grant Fund - extended deadline

The scheme has been extended to accept new applications until 5pm on Friday 21 August 2020.

Any local business or charity whose income has significantly fallen due to Covid-19 and has not received government support with:

• fixed property costs of £100 a month or less
• an annual rent, lease or mortgage costs of below £51,000

Apply for a discretionary grant

Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme

Small and medium-sized employers with less than 250 employees, are able to recover coronavirus-related Statutory Sick Pay paid to employees. Visit Gov.uk for more about the rebate scheme.

 

Self-employment income support scheme

If you're self-employed (or a member of a partnership) whose income has been negatively impacted by COVID-19, you can make a claim through the Self-employment income support scheme.

 

Apply for a Bounce Back Loan

A loan scheme to help small and medium-sized businesses to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000 launched on Monday 4 May 2020. Apply for the Bounce Back loan on the Gov.uk website.

Job Retention Scheme

Claim for 80% of your employee’s wages plus any employer National Insurance and pension contributions if you have put them on furlough because of COVID-19. Visit Gov.uk to make a claim

Business closures

New laws require that certain businesses and those selling food or drink for consumption on the premises must close to reduce social contact. Read more about closures and restrictions

Free parking for key workers

Please note that our free parking support to all key workers in Norwich has now ended.
