A full range of business support and guidance on coronavirus is available to businesses, employers and employees.

Reopening your business – advice and guidance

It is essential you follow government guidelines and health and safety regulations before you reopen your business.

We have put together advice and useful links to help you reopen safely.

Free support and advice locally

Norfolk businesses affected by coronavirus are urged to seek advice. The government has supplied resources to inform employers on developments and advice on protecting themselves and their employees. The New Anglia Growth Hub offers free advice to all Norfolk businesses.

Financial support finder

The government has provided a tool for employers and the self-employed to check what support is available. You may be eligible for loans, tax relief and cash grants, whether your business is open or closed.

Top-up to local business grant funds scheme - available soon

Small businesses that aren't eligible for the small business or retail, leisure and hospitality grant funds may be eligible for the business grants top-up fund. Find out more about the top-up scheme on

Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme

Small and medium-sized employers, with less than 250 employees, will be able to recover up to 2 weeks' Statutory Sick Pay, per eligible employee, for sickness absence paid due to coronavirus. Find out more about the rebate scheme on

Self-employment income support scheme

Self-employed individuals (including members of partnerships) whose income has been negatively impacted by COVID-19, can apply for support.

Apply for a Bounce Back Loan

A loan scheme to help small and medium-sized businesses to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000 launched on Monday 4 May 2020. Visit to apply

Job Retention Scheme open for applications

Claim for 80% of your employee’s wages (capped at £2,500 a month per worker) plus any employer National Insurance and pension contributions if you have put them on furlough because of coronavirus. Visit to claim for your employees' wages

Business closures

New laws require that certain businesses and those selling food or drink for consumption on the premises must close to reduce social contact. We will be monitoring compliance with these regulations and take enforcement action when required. Read more about closures and restrictions

In response to the coronavirus situation we understand that you may need to change the way that you run your food business such as providing takeaways and delivering meals in the community. Information for food businesses and voluntary groups

Free parking for key workers

We are providing free parking to all key workers in Norwich – and this includes those involved in food sales and production, workers in banks, utilities and communications – as well as community volunteers. How to get a permiit and where you can park.

Call out for Personal Protective Equipment
