A guide to accessing Housing Online

A step by step guide on how to access Housing Online where you can manage your tenancy, report repairs and check your rent balance through the Housing Online section of My Account. 

How to register for Housing Online

You need to register with My Account before you can access Housing Online

Before you start

Please have your reference number ready so we can verify your details.

If you are a current tenant you will need your Rent reference (this will be found on your most recent rent letter, below the date)

If you are a Housing Options applicant you will need your application reference (this can be found on your banding letter, below the date)

1. How do I register or sign in to ‘My Account’

  • Visit www.norwich.gov.uk/MyAccount to register or sign in to My Account
  • If you are registering then you must confirm your identity when you receive a notification email

2.  Access Housing Online

 To find the Housing Online registration page, sign in to ‘My Account’ and click ‘Access Housing Online’.

3. Login or create an account

You will be taken to the ‘Login or create an account’ page. You do not need to enter your email address or new password at this point. Simply click the 'Step 1 - create an account’ button at the bottom of the page.

4. Register for Housing Online services

You will be taken to the ‘Register for Housing Online services’ page. Enter your email address and create a password – this does not have to be the same password as you use to access ‘My Account’.

5. Verification email

You will receive a verification email from the council. It will come from the address noreply@norwich.gov.uk

Click on the 'Verify me' link in the email, which will take you to the ‘Register Details’ page. This link will only be active for one hour. If the link expires you will need to start the registration process again (see 2. Access Housing Online).

If the link doesn't work, copy and paste the long link shown in the email and paste it into your browser.

If you don’t receive the email you may need to check your “junk mail” or “spam” folders.

6. Register your details

You need to provide a reference number so we can verify your details.

If you are a current tenant please select Rent reference (this will be found on your most recent rent letter) from the drop-down list.

If you are a Housing Options applicant please select – application reference (this can be found on your banding letter) from the drop-down list.

Provide your surname and date of birth in the dd-mm-yyyy format (eg 23-06-1978) and click ‘finish’.

7. One time action required to link your Housing Online account to your My Account 

After entering the correct details and pressing finish, you will be successfully registered for Housing Online. The screen below will appear:

Press ‘continue to complete creation of your account

You will then need to enter your email address and Housing Online password and press ‘Step 2 - complete account creation’ on the screen below:

You can now access your Housing Online account directly from 'My Account'.
