Do you know any inspirational people who have made a difference to local sport or physical activity over the last year?
Give them the chance to shine by nominating them for this year’s Norwich Sports Awards.
As well as celebrating the remarkable achievements of sports people from all levels, the Norwich Sports Awards also pays tribute to the efforts of coaches, schools and volunteers who all help to make Norwich a healthy and inspiring place to live.
Since 2008, the awards have honoured a range of people involved in activities across the city, with previous winners including the Assist Trust and Dragons Hockey club, and representatives from the Garage and UEA City of Norwich Swimming Club.
This year's ceremony will take place at City Hall on Wednesday 11 October, and the deadline for nominations is Friday 11 August.
Councillor Roger Ryan, cabinet member with responsibility for sport and leisure, said: “Sport and physical activity play a huge role in the health and wellbeing of our community, and we are fortunate that there are so many opportunities to get active here in Norwich.
“The Norwich Sports Awards are a wonderful way to not only acknowledge sporting success of teams and individuals, but to highlight the commitment shown by so many involved behind the scenes.
“Please do take the time to nominate someone you feel deserves to be celebrated!”
