Norwich City Council has launched the Love Norwich hub to work alongside residents to make the city the best it can possibly be.
The hub – which can be accessed at https://gettalking.norwich.gov.uk/hub-page/lovenorwich – is a one-stop-shop where the public can engage in the Love Norwich projects around the city which aim to make its streets a clean and inviting place for all.
The Love Norwich campaign is part of the council’s commitment to build partnerships with residents and businesses to create real change where communities can take pride in their neighbourhoods.
The online hub signposts visitors to where they can report issues such as fly-tipping and dog fouling, how to dispose of bulky waste and other actions; and it also features news of neighbourhood clean-ups and other projects where the public can engage with practical support.
Visitors to the hub will also find details of how they can apply for a Love Norwich grant of up to £1,200 for projects to make improvements to public spaces in their local areas, such as community gardens, colourful murals or thriving woodlands.
Councillor Adam Giles, Cabinet member for Communities and Social Inclusion at Norwich City Council, said:
“We hope our Love Norwich hub will become the go-to one-stop-shop for our residents to get involved and feel engaged with their local environment. This is their city. They live, work and play here. We want them to feel good about where they live.
“They’ll be able to find out what we have done recently and what we are doing right now to improve the districts they live in, including if a neighbourhood clean-up is scheduled for their area and how they might help shape what improvements are needed.
“This is part of our rolling neighbourhood clean-up programme to improve the environment and tackle problems such as fly tipping, dirty pavements and unmaintained shrubs or grassy areas. Residents can help us deliver these improvements for them by responding to our surveys and logging areas of concern by reporting fly tipping, graffiti or dog fouling, suggesting other improvements for their estate or finding out how to dispose of bulky waste and other items.”
