Welcome to the tenants’ annual report for the year ending March 2024. As the newly appointed director of housing and communities for the city council, with over two decades of experience in this field, I am thrilled to share our progress and vision with you.
Residing in Norwich myself, I share a deep pride in our city, as I’m sure many of you do. Over the past year, we’ve made significant strides in enhancing housing conditions. However, we acknowledge there’s still much ground to cover to surpass the expectations of our tenants.
Your feedback is invaluable to us. We encourage you to promptly report any issues you encounter, as your input plays a crucial role in shaping our future endeavours.
Our latest annual report covers the housing service’s performance from April 2023 to March 2024 – the year we started to collect the Regulator of Social Housing’s new Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM), to assess how we are performing in providing quality homes and services.
Looking ahead, the council remains committed to ensuring that our service is delivering against the requirements of the Social Housing (Regulation) Act and that we are listening to you, our tenants to achieve that. We have a proud history of providing council homes and continue to plan for the future demands on our social housing stock.
Read on to see our TSM results and a detailed breakdown of how the housing service has performed between April 2023 and March 2024.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making Norwich an even better place to call home.
Chris Hancock
Director of housing and communities
