Place+ – ongoing project
We’re working closely with our amazing partners at Shoebox Community Hub on a project called Place+. It’s all about listening to what matters most to people in their neighbourhoods - what they care about, what they want to see improved, and what dreams they have for their community.
We’re focusing on three areas: Mile Cross, NR5, and the City Centre.
Each area has:
- Two friendly Community Connectors (hosted by Shoebox) – they’re out and about chatting with residents, gathering stories, and learning what life’s really like in your neighbourhood.
- A Community Conversations Officer (hosted by the council) – they work with local organisations to share insights, strengthen community networks, and help shape services that better meet local needs.
If you see a Community Connector around, feel free to say hi - they’re here to listen!

This project is made possible thanks to funding from the Integrated Care Service’s Community Voices programme, Norwich City Council, Norwich Opportunity Area, our Health and Wellbeing Partnership, and lots of generous support from other local groups.
Interested in the research and insights from Place+? We’re happy to share! Whether you’re applying for funding or designing a new project, just get in touch and we’ll add you to our Insights Hub.

The 100 Day Challenge – completed August 2022 (surely this can go now? Anything to replace it?)
We recently wrapped up our 100 Day Challenge, a fast-paced project funded by the government’s Community Renewal Fund. It brought together a fantastic mix of partners including Shoebox Community Hub, Voluntary Norfolk, Garden Organic, Business in the Community, Future Projects, and many more.
We’re currently putting together an Innovation Report to share what we learned - keep an eye on this space!
