Satisfaction survey privacy notice

About us

Norwich City Council is the data controller for the neighbourhood housing innovation and improvement team which undertakes surveys which aim to gain an insight into levels of customer satisfaction with areas of the housing service.

You may contact our data protection and information security officer by emailing dataprotection@norwich.gov.uk  or by calling 0344 980 3333.

What will we do with your data?

In obtaining your co-operation to participate in the survey, we undertake that all of the information that you provide will be treated as confidential and will only be used for research purposes.

Your comments will not be identified as belonging to you, instead they will be combined with those gathered from other survey participants, and will be analysed as part of a group.

We do not use any of the information you provide for direct marketing or other non-research activities.

If we ask you for personal information that enables you to be identified eg your name, ID numbers, email address or telephone number, we will clearly state why we are asking for it and for your permission to use it for that purpose. For example, it might be to inform the winner of a prize draw or to contact you for follow-up research.

We intend to keep your data for seven years as stated in our Retention Schedule available on our website.

What are your rights?

You have the right to request access to your personal information to:

  • ask for errors to be corrected
  • restrict how your information is used
  • object to how it is processed
  • request that your data is deleted.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office if you are not happy with how your data is processed.

What are the consequences of you not providing data?

Your participation is voluntary. You are entitled to ask that part, or all of the record of your involvement in the survey is deleted or destroyed.

How will we share your data?

Apart from where previously stated, we do not pass your details to third parties unless we are lawfully required to do so for the prevention and detection of crime and fraud, or for the collection of taxes.
