Norwich City Services Limited (‘NCSL’) was established by Norwich City Council in April 2021 to provide operational environmental services for Norwich on behalf of the city council. The company currently employ around 200 permanent and seasonal staff and operate a fleet of over 70 vehicles. From April 2022, building repairs and maintenance services will join the company.

The company carries out environmental operations from four area depots:

  • Hurricane Way, Norwich
  • Eaton Park, Norwich
  • Bowthorpe, Norwich
  • Swanton Road, Norwich

These are geographically located to ensure the most efficient delivery in terms of reducing travel time to sites and resource management and output.

A workshop maintenance facility for servicing the grounds plant and machinery is located at the head depot at Hurricane Way.

Grounds maintenance
Grounds maintenance covers anything from landscaping, mowing, and fencing, but these are just a few of the duties of our crews. Grounds maintenance looks at improving outdoor spaces as well as keeping areas and facilities neat and presentable.

This is done across on the city and includes Norwich’s parks and open spaces and Earlham and Rosary cemeteries.
