We’re pleased to welcome you to our new Norwich City Council website. It has been redesigned using feedback from residents and community groups to make it easier for you to find information, request services and complete tasks online. Our old website has now been turned off.
Why we’ve changed the site
We asked residents, community groups and staff to tell us what they thought about the old website. Many people said it was difficult to navigate, unclear in places and slow to use on mobile devices. People also told us that online forms sometimes failed, the search tool didn’t always give useful results and there were too many steps to reach the pages they needed.
We’ve used this feedback, alongside wider data and accessibility standards, to redesign the site from the ground up.
What’s new
- A cleaner design with clearer navigation
- Better search results
- Faster and more reliable online forms
- Improved mobile performance
- Content written in plain English
- A new accessibility toolbar with options to change colours, contrast, text size and language support
Message from the leader of the council, Councillor Mike Stonard
“Our new website gives residents a clearer and more accessible way to use our services. Thank you to everyone who shared their views. Your feedback has helped us create a site that better meets the needs of our communities.”
We’ll continue to develop the site in response to your feedback.
